Years ago my son battled with Sever’s Disease* which is a temporary condition which mostly affects the heels of young people during growth. At the time I battled to find school shoes that were made in a decent comfort level in their soles. There were some good quality shoes, but they add quite a bit of cost with full grain uppers, and I was looking for product that had softer bottoms not tops. We bought some innersoles (footbeds) and slid them into his existing shoes, but they weren’t perfect because they filled up the shoes quite a bit and he then wore shoes that were a bit bigger and longer.
After my daughter also started suffering from Sever’s Disease I thought that there would probably be quite a few kids who suffered from the same condition. In addition to that, our kids spend the bulk of their days in uniform shoes, so why not create a product that was actually comfortable and softer to wear. That idea was the start of the journey to create ‘Softer’ shoes that are both comfortable, and great value for money. Also, I thought it was an opportunity to give something back. In this country of ours where poverty is so broad, I thought it would be fantastic to be a contributor to a solution

Sever’s Disease
Sever’s Disease is a type of bone injury in which the growth plate in the lower back of the heel, where the Achilles tendon (the heel cord that attaches to the growth plate) attaches, becomes inflamed and causes pain.
Sever’s disease, a common heel injury in kids, is due to inflammation (swelling). During a growth spurt, the bones, muscles, and tendons grow at different rates.
